Girls who STEAM – Nerang Library
On the 16th February 2019, That’s RAD! Science held a hands-on science event at the Nerang Library as part of their “Girls who STEAM” program. Thanks to all the wonderful girls who joined Prof Kathy Andrews and PhD student Heidi Walkden to learn about what it’s like to be a scientist. The girls used a pipette to dilute a solution and made very cool and creepy plasticine parasites. All the girls also took home a set of That’s RAD! Science books to learn more about parasites, nanotechnology and forensic science. A big thanks to Nerang Library for hosting the event and to That’s RAD Science supporters, including the Griffith Institute for Drug Discovery, Griffith Sciences and the Australian Society for Parasitology!
